Workshop: The 4th Trimester Care and Support

In this presentation Annie will explore the common changes that occur during the first few months of your baby's life - also know as the "4th trimester." This session will cover the physical, mental and emotional challenges that may arise after your birth, for various reasons. Whether you are welcoming home your first child or a new sibling, the whole family must adapt to this change. Balancing the needs of the new babe, the recovering mom, and the rest of the family may bring some over whelming shifts.  Annie will shed light on ways to reach out for support prior to baby's arrival to soften the challenges that lie ahead, as well as how to reach out after baby's birth, if overwhelm creeps up on you unexpectedly. In this session, Annie will explore the role of Postpartum Doula care and services these doulas can provide. She will also bring into discussion postpartum depression & psychosis - the signs to look out for and how creating you support system prior to baby's birth can help to prevent such challenges.
